Once a builder has been appointed, the price and contract period can be written into a binding agreement, overseen by your architect. This will ensure the work is completed according to the plans, the timescale and the costs stipulated.
You have flexibility at this stage on how you want to make the most of your architect’s project management support.
On a large project, you might prefer them to act as a ‘contract administrator’ or, if your project is smaller scale, simply coming in on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis and attending periodic meetings to check on progress.
