19th Century home extension in Chalk Farm
The client's brief was to demolish the existing side wing of this early 19th Century end of terrace house and replace it with a bright contemporary extension.
The architects produced an extension design that was not only light and sun-filled but retained a homely family feel. The open plan kitchen/ dining room provides a spacious multi-use space with a full-width expanse of glazed folding doors that open up onto the wrap-around garden allowing the natural light to flood in.
The simple white kitchen units allow the spaces to seamlessly flow into each other and the centred island unit, with its forward-facing hob, further promotes the sociability of this family room.
