A new build waterside home in Surrey, as featured on Grand Designs
When its time to get your uncle out of his houseboat and onto dry land, the house has to be pretty special.
When your uncle has spent much of the past 35 years of his life on the water, hopping from vessel to vessel, something pretty extraordinary – and unconventional – is required to anchor him on dry land - which is what was created.
This home was designed to help transition a man who had spent his life on boats to a life on the land. The design, therefore, needed to feel reminiscent of water and have a sense of the nautical about it. This was such an interesting project that it was featured on Grand Designs.
