This renovation of an end-of-terrace Victorian family home within the Haringey ladder in Hornsey, North London, included a side extension forming a kitchen diner plus a loft conversion, new family bathroom, and sundry internal renovations.
The clients wanted to rationalise the various levels caused by the slope of the ground and put their own stamp on the house.
In order to allow the family with their 2 young children to occupy the house during construction, the work was phased with the loft completed before work began on the extension and kitchen.
The side extension includes exposed timber rafters plus a window seat to a lean-to extension clad externally in board-on-board larch.
