Double height kitchen extension
The key to the success of any renovation or extension project is making it fit and needs and aspirations of the customer.
Here the customer wanted a light, spacious multi-functional space with plenty of natural light and space.
The architect's answer to these criteria was to use a pitched roof, rather than flat, over the extension. This not only gave them an elevated area over the centre of the room, but the opportunity to include the high-level roof lights.
A bank of storage was created along one wall of the extension with a small home office cleverly included in the last cupboard.
By the end, the architect had provided an extension design that included a kitchen, dining room, family room and home office, all working in perfect harmony together.
