Double storey extension to Edwardian home

Our clients wanted to extend their home to create more space for their growing family and they were fortunate to have the opportunity to extend sideways as well as to the rear.

The proposal involved the enlargement of the ground and first floor, with a double-story side extension design which created a large kitchen/dining/living space and recreation room on the ground floor and two additional bedrooms at the first-floor level. The cellar was also renovated to create an extremely useful utility room. Metal framed windows and doors were designed for the new kitchen dining area as they gave a more contemporary feel while still remaining in context with the age of the property. At the front, a more traditional approach was adopted so that the new extension blended seamlessly into the existing.
