Full width rear extension and garage conversion in Harrow

Project Story

Though this customer needed more space, they didn’t want to move house, so they started to think about extending and renovating their existing home instead.

They wanted to use the expertise of an architect but found traditional practices difficult to work with, taking ages to respond and not being clear what they were charging for. So they were delighted when they found Architect Your Home’s pay-as-you-go menu of extension design services as now they could involve their architect as and when they needed their expert input.

This project involved building a full-width rear extension to create a larger kitchen and dining area as well as converting the garage into a utility room. The garage was converted into a utility room and the area behind was cleverly used to create a shower room and cosy home office, which benefits from wonderful views across the garden. The architect managed to manipulate the various areas and re-arrange certain elements to achieve all-important storage requirements. The design also included sliding glass doors into the garden that gave the extension a contemporary feel, something that customer had wanted from the start.
